Emerging from the Pandemic, Northstar Aromatics has created a Smell Kit (Olfactory Training Kit) that consists of smelling four different essential oils that belong to different odor families twice a day to assist in recovery from smell loss (Anosmia) and smell distortion (Parosmia), both common side effects of Covid-19.
The technique of olfactory training is based on the fact that the nerve affecting our sense of smell, the olfactory nerve, has the ability to regenerate. Exercising the olfactory nerve may strengthen it. It aims to help recovery based on neuroplasticity - the brain's ability to reorganize itself to compensate for a change or injury.1
Northstar Aromatics Olfactory Training Kit - Phase II: Advanced Recovery is designed for returning smell trainers who have completed the first phase of Smell Training with Northstar Aromatics Olfactory Training Kit - Phase I: Smell Recovery. By this point, you have begun to recognize some scents and are ready to take smell training to the next level by diversifying your sense of smell.
With Phase II, your training continues with four new authentic essential oils: GRAPEFRUIT, LAVENDER, CINNAMON, and PEPPERMINT, belonging to the same four primary categories of the Odor Prism just like in Phase 1; FRUITY, FLORAL, SPICY, and RESINOUS.
We recommend starting Phase II after approximately 12 weeks of diligent training with Northstar Aromatics Olfactory Training Kit - Phase I: Smell Recovery. We believe that switching up the "training odors" used in smell therapy after 12 weeks of training and then continuing to use them for an additional 12 weeks may enhance success by stimulating different olfactory receptors.
